July has been hot, so we've done a lot of swimming. Sam is pretty good about staying afloat in the water without his life jacket. Mick is getting more comfortable floating with a life jacket and without a mom or dad.
We had our roof done in mid-July. I felt so bad for the roofers. It was around 95 degrees outside with high humidity. The heat index (feels like temperature) for that day was 116 degrees. We watched comfortably from inside our air-conditioned home.
This before picture was taken at 7:00 a.m. when they arrived. It was so warm and humid outside that the lens fogged up. That's what happened to our eye glasses every time we left the house or got out of an air-conditioned car.
This picture shows how curled our shingles were. Definitely time for replacements.

All finished - nice and flat.
We spent one night at the Olmsted County Fair. Sam had a few bites of Jeff's turkey leg. Jeff was pretty disappointed that it wasn't a very good piece of meat. Pretty much ruined his entire evening.
The coolest part of the fair was the Live Birth Center. They had a few very pregnant cows, pigs, and sheep in a building. If one of them was giving birth you could watch. We got to feed some baby cows and pet a little piglet that was one day old. Sam and Mick loved the cow milking simulator.

Of course the absolute highlight of the whole evening is getting a huge snow-cone. Unlike Salt Lake, Rochester has zero snow cone booths or shacks. You can get a one-flavored slushee at the gas station or an icee at Target or Burger King, but not the shaved ice of my childhood (and adolescence...and early adulthood). It was delicious!
We've had a few really amazing rain storms this month. Our basement has not flooded and we are so grateful. We did have a branch break from our tree. After Jeff spent a good 90 minutes working by himself I called our friend, Blake, to help out. It took them at least another hour to get the branch down.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. I learned that the twins are synchronized swimmers. They've both turned into the breech position. I have another formal ultrasound next week to see how they are growing and check their positions again. I'll be 34 weeks then and we'll probably start discussing a planned c-section unless they can pull off a 180 and earn the gold medal.
